A Launch Crew member is a servant leader whose job is to help lead and facilitate Launch Box (a state-side mission trip where youth groups minister to internationals while being trained to live on mission). You will be part of a tight-knit and hard-working group of older high school and college students who ensure that Launch Box runs smoothly, and who have a significant impact on the students and refugees we are serving. Your mission during Launch Box is first and foremost to the Launch Box participants. A few other things you may be responsible for include: VBS Preparation and Leadership, Leading Discussions, Facility Support, Planning and Preparation, or Technical Needs. Each member will be asked to focus on some of these roles more than others. Early in the week, Launch Crew will lead by modeling the ministry of gospel proclamation, relationship building, and ministry leadership. As the week progresses, Launch Crew will shift to the background, coaching and encouraging the Launch Box participants to engage and lead out in ministry.
Application opens: October 25, 2023
Deadline: December 8, 2023
Launch Crew is needed in all three locations (and possibly a fourth one TBD). On the application you can indicate your choice of location, but please know we can't guarantee your choice simply because we need a balance of Launch Crew in each location. Space in each location will be limited, so apply ASAP for the best chance of getting your preferred location as well as reserving a spot.
Ky Martin (AKA The Mayor) leads Launch Box for iGo. Amanda Gilchrist coordinates the administration and logistics for our spring break weeks, and Caroline Jacobs does that during the summer. In addition, other iGo staff members serve in different roles each week of Launch Box.
Launch Crew Chief - Each location will have at least one Launch Crew chief. This is your leader for the week as you serve. Crew Chiefs help recruit Launch Crew members and begin leading through communication well before the week of Launch Box begins.
Launch Crew will report a day early for training and preparation. Your Crew Chief will let you know what time to be there on Sunday afternoon of your week. We will spend time Sunday evening and Monday morning in training, prayer, and preparation so that you are equipped and ready to serve as part of the Launch Crew.
