Five Minute English - Japan

Trey Fleming fell in love with the people of Japan a few years back while on an iGo team with students in his youth group. God then led he and his wife to move their family to Osaka, Japan.

Japan has a fascinating culture, amazing technology, and some of the lowest crime rates in the world. But underneath all of Japan’s accomplishments is a sense of loneliness and despair as evidenced by some of the highest suicide rates in the world. Less than 1% of Japanese people say they know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. That means that if you talked to 200 people out on the streets of Osaka, 1 or 2 of them might know Jesus and the rest would probably have never heard His story before.

We endeavor to make Jesus known through free English lessons, international parties, and university campus outreaches. Come tell the Good News to someone who has never heard!

Trey and his family are excited to to invite you to join in this ancient work.

Safety

At iGo, safety is always a high priority and we take extensive measures to ensure the success of the students on our teams. From registering every student with the embassy, to giving all our leaders training, we do everything in our power to minimize risk and be prepared for any issue that might arise on the field.

Cost

The cost for this TBD but will roughly be $3600* (all inclusive). It covers meals, lodging, airfare, training, in country transportation, travel insurance, etc… everything but souvenirs. We provide all team members with a fundraising guide upon acceptance and other helpful resources.

*Due to the volatility of fuel prices and their effect on travel costs, we can not provide the exact cost until closer to the trip dates.

Supervision

Jami Lee Gainey is your Trip Coach (iGo staff member who will guide you through the entire process) for this team. She will be your main contact leading up to the trip. This team will also have several youth ministers and other adults traveling and serving alongside the students.

All iGo teams serve under the direct supervision of local church planters, missionaries, and other field staff.
