Hometown 2020 is a brand-new initiative by iGo Global which invites churches, groups, families, etc. to focus on being on mission in their hometowns.
Join other churches who are hosting a mission trip in their own towns on July 27-30, 2020. With so many other opportunities canceled this summer, we are encouraging you to pivot your students by training and sending them to be on mission right in their own community.
Dates: July 27-30, 2020
Registration Deadline: July 10
Our goal is to help you train and send your students to engage their hometown on mission while also providing a fun event that they can rally around this summer.
We will help by providing….
Live Stream Teaching:
Each night we will live stream the teaching portion of the evening worship service from one of the Hometown 2020 locations in order to help your group connect and pray for other group who are doing the same thing.
This involves a 6 part video series we are creating specifically for this event that equips students to engage God’s mission and share the Gospel in their hometowns.
We will provide a schedule that you will be able to adjust to fit your group and your needs. There will, however, be a few staples that everyone will do simultaneously to provide a sense of unity among churches throughout the event.
We will consult with you on filling in parts of the schedule where you have options and finding meaningful service opportunities in your area.
Leadership Support: FLT (Field Leadership Team)
We are recruiting experienced student leaders from our iGo alumni base to come and help with all the aspects of Hometown 2020. These FLT students will arrive ready to lead your group, emcee the event, facilitate discussions, and help your group engage your community.
In order to host FLT, all we are asking you to do is provide room and board for them. We know they will be helpful to you, but this is also very helpful to us as we strategically develop young leaders. We would love for them to serve alongside you, and for you to invest in them during the week.
A Note About Worship
One more thing for now – the goal of every night is to have live worship at your location followed by live-streamed preaching. Who can lead worship for your group? Absolutely don’t have an answer to that question? Let us know. We might have some options for that as well.
