Adults & Leaders

These trips do not happen without leaders and chaperones. We need adults to apply for this trip as chaperones in order to provide adequate supervision for students. In previous years we have struggled to have enough adult chaperones, so if you are an adult considering applying for this trip, know that we do need your help. Below is a list of the different positions that adults will fill.

Team Leader: The team leader is in charge of shepherding the students through their training and overseeing their travel to and from the UK. Team leaders are carefully chosen by iGo Global staff. They are either staff members or other adults with extensive travel experience who have led teams for us in previous years.

Adult Chaperone: (1 for every 10-15 students) Students will often spread out all over the city in groups of 8 to 10 called Trek Groups. Each group must have at least one adult chaperone. Students will be with an adult chaperone at all times. We require a minimum ratio of one adult for every 10 students.

The adult chaperone position is not a leadership position—they are there to help with student supervision. They are responsible for doing head counts as we travel and looking after the general well being of the students. Adults who are interested in applying for this position should mail their applications in ASAP.
